One of the goals for Phase I of this project was to highlight the facility’s surrounding landscape. The design is mindful of a theme that “pays respect to water, treats water well and makes use of water.” Plans also included building an ecological park by making use of Haicang Avenue and its surrounding green belt. This helped to create a modern, ecological city that meets the needs of its citizens. The design also highlights the culture of China’s Southern Fujian Province.
