Ordos Airport

Developed in response to rapid tourism growth and travel to the region, Ordos Airport serves as the grand gateway to Inner Mongolia. The project includes a new 50,000-square metre facility, capable of catering to 270,000 passengers per year, with provisions for a future expansion of 30,000 square metres. Design inspiration was drawn from the stunning panoramic landscape, celebrating local culture while expressing local sensitivity. The departure hall design showcases a grand yurt-like column-free dome, with winter gardens featured in the arrival/departure concourse. The tri-level terminal’s aerodynamic design resonates with the engineering of the Mongolian Bow and the exterior’s flowing lines and undulating geometry seamlessly integrates the structure to the vast surrounding grasslands.
